Three Day International Site-Specific Performance Symposium

Join us for a three-day exploration of the phenomenon of site-specific performance. Site-specific performance has become prevalent and increasingly inventive over the past several years, and has influenced the work of numerous choreographers and theatre practitioners. In the U.S. and Europe, artists and companies are increasingly creating pieces in non-conventional theatre spaces in the streets, architectural landmarks, public transportation, abandoned warehouses and pools, underground tunnels, and empty garages, confronting the public and mixing highly choreographed dance and rehearsed scenes with the spontaneities and idiosyncrasies of the city.
